Pizza, soda, and as many friends as you can convince to come watch an absurd send-up of schlocky comedy horror.

Tomato soup doctored up with oregano, a grilled cheese, and a hot chocolate for halfway through, blanket fort optional, but highly recommended.

Popcorn and lots of it. Family or friends if you have anyone who either A. hasn't seen an adaptation of Journey to the West before, or B. likes wuxia films.
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: Ten peaches out of ten.

Pre-rewatch: One of my absolute favorite films. The orgasms (there are 15 by the way) scene is still a favorite of mine. As well, the scene preceding where she puts her hand into the bag of grains brings me back to my childhood going to the get horse food at the stockfeed place and running off to stick my hands into the barrels of seeds and grain.

Pre-rewatch: I used to watch this repeatedly in my childhood and teenage years, both by myself and with my mom. It instilled a real sense of the nearness of magic, some of it spectacular, and some of it quiet and nigh invisible. Manifesting the love of your life is something I hold close to my heart.

Pre-rewatch: *Thoughts go here* Note on acquisition: Weird little story. There's a local chinese place that I like to get food from once in awhile. They're kinda expensive, but it's so worth it. One time I ordered a particularly big meal and they included a 2 liter of soda and a copy of The Lost City, free of charge. Not only that, the copy had a sticker saying "Date Night" on it. I love that restaurant.

Pre-rewatch: I had high hopes for it. It was always a go-to cosy film. Nicholas Cage at his most endearing. We need more Rom-Com Nicholas Cage.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows, cinnamon if you like it. If you don't have hot chocolate on tap... or are evil and don't like, then cookies and milk can suffice. (This is a christmas movie, after all.)
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: Twelve days of Christmas out of twelve.

Pre-rewatch: I saw this at the movies. Little Adorne probably did not pay for her ticket. I was worried that it didn't hold up to the memory, especially Leo doing his thing.
Popcorn, but keep in mind how long this movie is. So you'll need an intermission to acquire second popcorn. If you can have two varities of flavours, that's your best bet. For best possible experience, do a double feature with The Three Musketeers (1993) first.
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: Two Leos out of two.
Pre-watch: I anticipated utter shit and an entertaining time. The demon face on the cover REALLY sold me.
Alcohol and someone to riff with. Maybe pizza bagels, but only homemade, not frozen (I see you America, I've seen your shame). We've only just gotten bagels down here, and to have pre-frozen ones would be truly atrocious. This movie is hard enough as it is, go through the minor effort of making the pizza bagels yourself. Or if you're a little too Aussie for that, you can definitely go with pizza English muffins.
Verdict:
DONATED
Rating: Four and a half demon puns out of eight.

Pre-rewatch(?): I've watched so many versions of Pride and Prejudice I can't be POSITIVE that I've seen this one, but... there's a good chance. I love Pride and Prejudice and find it to be kind of a comfort story for myself. I read it back in high school and adored the character of Elizabeth. Intelligent and spirited.

Pre-watch: I'd heard really good things about this going in. I completely missed getting to see it in theaters when it released, but I love Jet Li, so I'm super excited to see it now.
Triple Butter Popcorn and a Coke icee, sprinkle M&Ms into the popcorn. Finish the second half of the film with microwave quesadillas. (a tortilla, and whatever cheese you have in the fridge, microwave for about a minute. Careful! It'll be hot)
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: One hundred and twenty three Jet Lis out of One hundred and twenty four. (Gets slightly marked down for homophobia and sexism... as was the style at the time.)

Pre-rewatch: It's been almost a decade since I last watched this, but I remember it being kinda devastating, but ultimately very uplifting. I LOVE Jimmy Stewart.
Pre-rewatch: I remember this being really bloody charming, almost a similar vibe to Amelie.
Chocolate. Good chocolate. Hot chocolate (add a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper, or chili flakes). Chocolate Chip Cookies (homemade). Chocolate coated potato chips if you can find them.
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: Forty days of Lent out of forty.
Pre-watch: I didn't know this was even a thing, in the sense of a non-David Lynch approved version of this film. I'm planning on holding off on watching it until I can get ahold of the theatrical release and then if I enjoyed that and don't feel like an extra hour and something of additional footage is necessary, I'll probably just redonate this version.
Pre-rewatch: I had such high hopes because it was such a comfort movie to me. The first time I watched this movie I had just gone through my first breakup (where the boy broke up with me) and I was devo. My dad let me stay home from school and also took the day off, but went out to get movies and treats and broke back this. We watched it a couple of times and he just let me cry.
Half a glass of wine and a charcuterie board... or just some nice cheese and crackers if that's a bit much.
Verdict: Stays in the collection Rating: Four one-minute eggs out of four.

Pre-watch: I watched a few episodes when I was younger, but was never around at the right times to catch it consistently on TV. I know it's supposed to be fantastic, so I'm quite excited to start watching it. The fact that there's only three books and each one is named after an element kinda drives me nuts, but when I brought it up with a family member who has watched it they gave me a look that says there's a reason.

Pre-watch: I've never even heard of this film, but this bluray version was lovingly produced with heaps of cool features and a whole booklet of behind the scenes stuff, so I'm anticipating a weird and interesting scifi horror movie.
Pre-rewatch: I remember this movie being... entertaining, but not particularly good.
Popcorn (for throwing at the screen), and popcorn (for eating).

Pre-rewatch: Loved this growing up. The memory of this movie is so linked to my mum's strawberry jam steamed pudding with custard, I don't know if she just made it one time and it stuck or if she happened to make it multiple times, but they are inextricably linked.

Pre-rewatch: I know that this movie is important to the Wu-Tang Clan, but I don't know much more than that. I love kung-fu films so I'm pumped to watch this. (It even has commentary by the RZA.)
Pre-rewatch: I remember when my English teacher recommended this to us while reading the Scarlet Letter. She used it as a great example of reinterpreting a work of literature for a different audience. I think it'll hold up.
French toast with whipped cream and strawberries. Indulgent mochas. Wear old fashioned bonnets to get into the puritan mindset.

Pre-watch: My mom really liked the quote "In the end everything will be okay, and if it's not okay, it's not the end." I am aware that it appears in this film, but beyond that I have no preconceived notions.

Pre-watch: I cannot count how many times I've watched this... Just put me in the castle and let me feed Calcifer, I'll be happy. Let me fall asleep on Howl's bed... Howl not included. I'm there for his shinies.
